The Man Behind the Mission
Meet Rodney, the visionary founder of Browns Defense Systems. His journey with firearms began in 1985 when he and his friends explored the backwoods of Missouri, discovering a passion for guns, shooting, and the great outdoors. Rodney joined the US Marine Corps at 17 with a family military background and a passion for study. He excelled as a pistol and rifle expert in the military and he had tours of duty in Central America, the South Pacific and The Middle East. He is also a Desert Storm veteran and received an honorable discharge in late 1991.
The Evolution of Expertise
Bridging Security, CPR, Instruction, and Law Enforcement
Following his military career, Rodney transitioned into the security industry, spending seven years safeguarding A-list celebrities, athletes, and foreign dignitaries in Orange County and Beverly Hills, California. He also played a key role in security details for the prestigious Golden Globe Awards. At the same time, Rodney broadened his skillset by becoming a CPR instructor and refining his proficiency in firearms.

Over Two Decades of Dedication to Public Safety
Rodney's commitment to serving the public extended to a distinguished career with a major metropolitan police department in Southern California. During his over 20-year tenure, he assumed different roles, from field training and patrol officer to detective positions in specialized units. Rodney's achievements were abundant, earning him many awards for his exemplary work. During this time, he earned a degree in Behavioral Science, continued to enhance his internal and external firearms expertise, and remained dedicated to staying current with the latest self-defense techniques and tactics.
